Tool Data Management / TDM – Smart Factory Glossar
Tool Data Management, or TDM for short, refers to the software-based management and organization of tools, equipment, and other resources required for production. TDM documents parameters, such as tool statuses, storage location, service life, degree of wear, and maintenance activities for the entire life cycle of tools. Tool Data Management aims at avoiding downtimes and replaces manual tool logbooks.
Tool Data Management can be part of a Manufacturing Execution System like HYDRA X by MPDV. HYDRA X provides the mApp Equipment Management that manages all resources and associated data.
